What Is Lorem Ipsum?
Lorem ipsum is derived from Cicero's De Finibus Bonorum et Malorum, a philosophical work written in 45 BC. The passage has been used as filler text in typesetting since the 1500s — its key advantage is that it has no meaningful content, so readers focus on the visual layout rather than the copy.
It became the industry standard after Letraset popularized it in the 1960s, and later desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker made it universal.

Will the output be the same every time?
Yes — the same type and count always produce identical output (deterministic pseudo-random). Change the count to get different text.
Why is the first paragraph special?
In paragraph mode the first paragraph always starts with the classic “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet…” opening — the most recognizable placeholder text in design. Subsequent paragraphs are dynamically generated.
Can I generate placeholder text in other languages?
This tool is designed for the Latin Lorem ipsum standard. For other languages, use actual translated content or a locale-specific generator.
