How to Resize an Image Online

  1. Upload your image — drag and drop or click “Choose Image”. Supports PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, and SVG.
  2. Set dimensions — enter a custom width/height, or pick a preset (HD, FHD, 4K, etc.). Enable the aspect ratio lock to avoid distortion.
  3. Choose output format — PNG for lossless graphics, JPEG for photos, WebP for modern web use with best compression.
  4. Adjust quality (JPEG / WebP only) — higher quality means a larger file. 80–90% is typically the sweet spot for photos.
  5. Click Resize Image — the result appears immediately with file size and savings info.
  6. Download — save the output directly to your device.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. All resizing happens entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image never leaves your device. This also means the tool works offline once the page is loaded.

Will resizing degrade image quality?

Upscaling (making an image larger than its original size) will always result in some quality loss because new pixels must be interpolated. Downscaling retains quality well. Enable High-quality downsampling for the best results when reducing image size.

What is the maximum file size or image resolution?

There is no hard limit set by this tool — it is constrained only by your browser's available memory. Very large images (e.g., 50 MP+) may be slow to process or fail on low-RAM devices.

Can I resize a GIF?

Yes, but the output will be a static image (the first frame of the GIF), not an animated GIF. Canvas does not support animated GIF output.
